As the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League made their final cuts in 1985, Head Coach Don Shula said, "Ray Condren is one of the nicest young men I have coached. It tears me apart to have to cut him."

A gentleman, who treats everyone with respect, he was twice named first team Kodak All-America, NCAA Division III All-America and once Football Gazette All-America. He was the ECAC Division III Player of the Year and two-time all-conference first team.

As an outstanding fullback, he completed his senior year with 1,449 yards on 288 rushes and guided the Bullets to an 8-3 record. Eight times during that year he rushed for over 100 yards in a game. He was a key factor in Gettysburg's three straight conference championships. He completed his career with 3,312 yards, one of the best performances in the history of the College. That same senior year, he was the country's number two rusher.
