Hall of Athletic Honor
He's a perfect example of how one best utilizes his God-given talents to the fullest. Because of his iron will, he never missed a single jayvee or varsity basketball game, starting in 107 contests. He completed his career with 775 points and 650 rebounds. An exceptional shooter, he connected on 44 percent of his 636 field goal attempts and 70 percent of his 335 free throws. A physically strong player, he was always the last to leave a game. He worked hard against taller opponents, giving Gettysburg an added advantage under the boards.
In two of the outstanding games of his career, he scored 16 points in leading the Bullets past Navy in overtime. Another time he pulled in 19 rebounds in a 66-61 win over Lafayette.
He was as successful on the soccer field as he was on the court. He played two years for Coach Lou Hammann, was elected team co-captain and was given honorable mention all-conference. As a senior, he played under Coach Bob Smith. He played both forward and goalie. As a junior, he made 124 saves and allowed just 22 goals. He moved back to forward his senior year and in the first match led Gettysburg to a 6-0 win over Muhlenberg.
He graduated with a major in political science and was the recipient of Gettysburg's coveted Beacham Award.
