Hall of Athletic Honor
Jessica Seedorf helped take Gettysburg’s women’s lacrosse program to another level during her tenure, establishing a successful tradition that has not waned two decades later.
Seedorf fit the very definition of a midfielder, going toe-to-toe with the other team’s best attackers on defense and then racing up the field to score clutch goals. She quickly established herself as a starter as a first-year and kept the Bullets competitive through her first two campaigns.
The 2000 campaign ushered in a new era of success for Gettysburg women’s lacrosse and Seedorf was a catalyst for the transition. She tallied 19 goals and set a school record with 41 caused turnovers as the Bullets marched to their first-ever Centennial Conference title and the program’s first national playoff appearance in 19 years. Gettysburg finished 17-3 overall and Seedorf was named a second-team All-American and all-conference first team.
As a senior, Seedorf became the program’s first-ever CC Player of the Year. She finished with a career-high 32 points to go along with 59 ground balls, 24 draw controls, and 15 caused turnovers. Seedorf was tagged to the All-American squad for the second year in a row and was named ECAC Player of the Year and All-Metro Region First Team.
Seedorf finished her career with 86 points, 175 ground balls, 112 draw controls, and 78 caused turnovers in 69 games.
A native of Port Jefferson, N.Y., Seedorf graduated from Gettysburg with a degree in psychology.
