In nine decades as a varsity athletic program, the men’s soccer program has never featured a more prolific and consistent offensive contributor than Chris Pryor.

Pryor wasted no time alerting opponents about his scoring abilities, netting a goal in his first game as a freshman at Gettysburg. He totaled 13 points in his debut campaign before pouring in a career-high 41 points on 17 goals and seven assists in 1997. Pryor was named All-Centennial Conference First Team and All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team and he tallied a pair of hat tricks during the 1997 season. Arguably his biggest play came in the national playoffs where he scored the game-winning goal in the 108th minute to lift the Bullets past Muhlenberg and into the national quarterfinals for the first time in program history.

Pryor’s playmaking ability was on full display again in 1998 as he netted 12 goals and dished out 11 assists, while fueling the team to a program-record 18 wins. After falling just short of conference titles in his first three campaigns, Pryor captained the Bullets to the top of the Centennial in 1999. He was tagged CC Player of the Year, All-CC First Team, and All-Mid-Atlantic Region after racking up 38 points on 15 goals and eight assists. Gettysburg reached NCAAs for the third consecutive year and finished with a 15-2-2 record.

Pryor finished as the program’s all-time leader in points (127) and goals (50). Gettysburg posted a record of 61-13-6, including 28-4-4 in league play during his tenure.

A native of Lawrenceville, N.J., Pryor graduated from Gettysburg with degrees in sociology and anthropology.
