Hall of Athletic Honor
Recognized as an All-America in two sports, the "Great Scott" was a halfback in football and a sprinter in track. The native of Neptune, N.J., began setting records his sophomore year and did not let up until his senior year.
He was a two-time Lutheran All-America, received honorable mention AP Small College All-America and was named to the ECAC Division III first team. In three years, he set five school records including most rushing attempts in a game, season and career, most yards in a season and most career yards with 1,890. Following graduation, he joined the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
Injuries cut his track career to two seasons. He guided Gettysburg to a conference championship and he was a member of a 440-yard relay team which set a school record and placed fourth in the NCAA Division III championships in Michigan.
