Hall of Athletic Honor
Few women have made as great an impact on Gettysburg College athletics as Sue. Sue stepped right into a starting role on the basketball team her freshman year and emerged as the second leading scorer. As a sophomore she upped her production to 388 points and 199 rebounds and led Gettysburg to its first winning season in ten years. In her junior year she led Gettysburg to its first NCAA tournament scoring 20 or more points in five games. In the opening game of the 1984-85 season, she became Gettysburg's first female 1,000 point scorer and went on to set school records 1,457 career points and 42 points in a single game. She was a two-time All-Conference and MVP; two-time ECAG All South; a two-time All-Mid Atlantic Region all-star; an American Women's Federation second team All-America; and a Kodak All-America.
Her softball record was just as impressive with an 0.89 career ERA. She posted a career 26-6 pitching record including three no-hitters. She batted well over .400 and was a four-time All-Conference first team selection. Upon graduation she was named Union Country, N.J.'s Female Athlete of the Year.
