11442Megan Lewis sped past everyone in the Gettysburg pool from the start of her amazing career. She did not lose a single individual race in her first year on campus leading up to nationals. At her first Centennial Conference Championship, Lewis turned in a record-breaking performance, winning the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle races in record time and helping the Bullets claim the first of four consecutive conference titles during her tenure.

In her first trip to the national stage, Lewis shined, earning All-America accolades in both the 50 and 100 free and becoming the first Bullet to do so in those events in 14 years. She gained four more national certificates as a member of relays teams in 1996 as well. For her sophomore campaign, Lewis continued her pool dominance by winning the 50 and 100 free at conferences before going on to lead four more relay squads to All-America status at the national championships.

Lewis continued to speed into the record book in her final two seasons. She never lost a race in dual meet, finishing 47-0 in her career. She took home the 50 freestyle title at the conference meet for the third time in 1999 and she remains one of only two Bullet swimmers – male or female – to win that event at conferences three times. She finished her career holding school records in the 50 free (24.18), 100 free (53.17), 200 free relay (1:39.27), and 400 free relay (3:27.02), while leading Gettysburg to four conference titles and a 34-1 dual meet record.

After graduating from Gettysburg with a degree in business management, Lewis began working in human resources and she is currently the Director of Human Resources at SAFARI Montage.
