Hall of Athletic Honor
Whether holding a ball or bat in her hands, Jacquie Gatti proved to be one of the most adept two-sport female athletes in school history, setting records in both basketball and softball.
On the hardwood, Gatti was a consistent contributor during her four years and served as a team captain in each of her last two. She landed All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention as a senior after averaging 8.0 points per game and leading the squad in both assists and steals. Gatti started each of her final 65 basketball games and concluded her playing career as the school’s all-time leader in steals with 192.
An accomplished player on the court, Gatti was even better on the diamond, being named to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference Southwest League All-Star Team in each of her first three seasons and landing first-team All-Centennial Conference accolades as a senior. She served as the team captain three times and started all 79 games she played at catcher.
Gatti led the Bullets in batting average three times in her four-year career, including a school-record clip of .468 as a freshman. As a senior, she led Gettysburg to a 21-4 record and its first CC championship. At the end of her softball career, Gatti established all-time marks for batting average (.419), at bats (270), and hits (113).
A native of Newark, Del., Gatti graduated from Gettysburg in 1994 with a degree in biology.
