Hall of Athletic Honor
"Junie" played and lettered three years in basketball and baseball and lettered one year in football. Following a highly successful freshman year, he started in 14 basketball games as a sophomore, leading the team to a 13-5 record. His personal success continued for two more years. His consistent and skillful play led to his being elected captain his senior year.
A versatile baseball player, he played just about every infield position over a three year period. He led the team in hitting two consecutive years.
However, his greatest accomplishment came in the fall of his senior year when he went out for football for the first time. Not only did he make the team, but broke into the starting lineup at end.
