Hall of Athletic Honor
He was the original Mr. Hustle, Mr. Energy. When he played basketball he gave it everything he had - 100 percent for 40 minutes for 62 ball games. After scoring 100 points in his sophomore year he came back to serve as team captain his junior and senior years. He was also the team scoring leader those two years, hitting 442 points and 294 respectively for a career total of 836. He did it all when Gettysburg was playing a steady diet of Virginia, Cornell, Princeton, Navy, LaSale, Pitt and Penn.
He was named to the Associated Press All-State team in both his junior and senior years and that encompassed all players. The Philadelphia Inquirer named him the top player in the East and the Navy coach concurred.
No records were kept for the one thing he did exceptionally well - rebound. Many of his points came on second effort and follow through layups where the action was - under the boards.
