"Thumper" came to Gettysburg from Glenside, Pa. She played right wing on the field hockey team and was a point guard in basketball. She handled the ball well and was a strong basketball player. However, her interests and skills surfaced in field hockey.
In 1961 she was named to the All-Susquehanna and Mid-East first teams and just missed the All-America team in competition on Long Island. She came back just as strong as ever in 1962, repeating as All-Susquehanna and All Mid-East Traveling to Ohio Wesleyan on Thanksgiving Weekend, playing with great intensity, she was named to the U. She continued to play field hockey well after graduation and in 1983, she ran in the New York Marathon.
