Hall of Athletic Honor
Touted by her head coach as “one of the most versatile swimmers to ever enter the program” upon her arrival in 1982, Berrier wasted little time in living up to expectations.
During the course of her debut season in 1982-83, she set five school records, qualified for the NCAA championship meet in six events and earned All-America honors as a member of the Bullets’ 400 medley relay team. Swimming alongside her sister Dottie – a senior on the 1983 squad and, herself, an All-American – she earned medals in four events at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships as Gettysburg captured the conference title.
Over the next three seasons, she helped the Bullets win two more conference championships while collecting nine MAC gold medals (including three consecutive titles in the 100 breaststroke, along with single wins in the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley) and appearing in the NCAA championships each year. At the 1986 NCAA meet, she was a member of All-America 200 and 400 medley relay teams that finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in Division III. In addition, she was a co-captain during the 1984-85 and 1985-86 seasons.
A native of East Greenbush, N.Y., she graduated in 1986 with a degree in biology.
